Bram Büscher

Bram is a dynamic researcher, writer and teacher in the Netherlands who I have come to know through his work on conservation politics in southern Africa and through our shared concern regarding neoliberal structuring of conservation agendas. Bram’s work can be found on his blog and website here, which are regularly updated.

Bram and I have recently collaborated with Jim Igoe on a panel called ‘Nature on the Move’ at the conference Nature™ Inc? Questioning the Market Panacea in Environmental Policy and Conservation, held from 29th June-2nd July 2011 at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague.

With Dan Brockington, Jim Igoe and Katja Neves we have also recently co-authored a paper on ‘neoliberal conservation’ which is in press in the journal Capitalism, Nature, Socialism.
